There aren't a lot of direct flights to Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (airport code MKE). Fortunately, Milwaukee is just 90 minutes north of O'Hare International Airport (ORD). If you're flying in to ORD and don't want to get on another flight, you can:

  1. Rent a car and take Interstate 94 straight north: be sure to have change for tolls in Illinois (boo FIBs) and keep an eye out for the Mars Cheese Castle and Brat Stop once you cross over into Wisconsin

  2. Take a bus from ORD to downtown Milwaukee. https://www.coachusa.com/airport-transportation Origin = "O'Hare International Airport". Destination = "Milwaukee Intermodal/Amtrak Station". Cost = $40!

  3. Take a train from downtown Chicago. Take the Blue Line "El" train from ORD to downtown Chicago - it's about a 45 minute train ride (which is still better than traffic). Get off on the Clinton stop and walk to Chicago Union Station. From there Amtrak will take you to downtown Milwaukee.
